EMDR & Brainspotting

Shift the question from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What’s happened to you?

EMDR and it’s offspring therapies - Brainspotting and Comprehensive Resource Model - all use bilateral stimulation and a rapid, structured approach to reprocess and resolve painful memories.

EMDR helps us to identify, access and rewire painful past experiences to free us from oppressive beliefs, compulsive behaviors, performance and relationship anxieties that keep us feeling stuck.

EMDR is a rapid process.  It swiftly changes the way we store memories, often inverting what had previously felt to be a defeat now reorganized into victories of survival and growth.

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (BLS)

  1. To engage the parasympathetic nervous system, which is helps us shift from fight-flight-freeze states to toward calm, secure, restful body & emotional states.

  2. Enhance connectivity between our brain hemispheres.

  3. Increase certain neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, associated with a sense of happiness and wellbeing.

EMDR is a structured, focused process.  It is an evidence-based treatment, the gold standard for trauma resolution for the past 25 years.
