Rebecca Hodgson, LMSW, BCST
Rooted in the neurobiology of attachment, Rebecca Hodgson guides clients to reconnect with the body’s natural healing processes. Drawing on advanced training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) and Somatic Experiencing (SE), Rebecca blends elements of psychodynamic, relational & emotion-focused therapies including Accelerated Experiential Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness and yoga into the therapeutic relationship. She invites each client’s unique relational style and co-creates a shared process. Warmth and playfulness are just as vital as wisdom and courage when facing deep change.
Rebecca enjoys working with teens, elders, and adults. She is just as comfortable working with complex and shock trauma, syndromes, and identity related stressors, as she is with anxiety, depression, and challenges inherent in relationships, professional, personal, and spiritual growth.
Rebecca Hodgson has experience in a range of mental health treatment settings including community mental health in the Boston metropolitan area, teletherapy through language interpreters with refugees and asylum seekers at the International Rescue Committee in Dallas, and outpatient, in-home and school-based therapy with teens, adults, and elders at Martha’s Vineyard Community Services.
Outside of the therapy room Rebecca is a nature and travel enthusiast. Born and raised on the island of Martha’s Vineyard off Cape Cod, she enjoys surfing and open water swimming. She has been a meditator for 20 years. Meditation and mindfulness practice are foundational to her work and day to day life.
